About Us

Whitehaven is a small family run home for 15 residents, situated in Horndean ,with easy motorway access to Petersfield and Portsmouth. The proprietors are Mr Roland Fiford and Beverly Walton, RGN,

The home is registered with Hampshire County Council and the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care for the elderly and elderly mentally ill. Our current age group of residents range from 78 to 97. We do not provide nursing care.

Our Facilities
Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished to a high standard, our residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms with their own effects.

A spacious open plan lounge and dining area give the residents the opportunity to enjoy the company of their visitors, friends and family.

The garden and patio are resident friendly areas; our residents enjoy planting bulbs and seeds in the spring and planting them in early summer on the patio. Whitehaven has a thriving bird colony with several bird feeders attracting blue tits , goldfinches & greenfinches giving pleasure to our residents and staff.

Lifestyle
Whitehaven is proud to offer extensive recreational activities, comprising of musical , reminiscence ,and art “n” craft sessions. These sessions maybe as a group or individually, respecting the differing likes & dislikes, needs of each resident. We promote involvement with the community to develop and maintain friendships and meetings. There are no barriers when entering Whitehaven your lifestyle should remain unchanged.

Residents have the choice of an extensive menu of quality home cooked cuisine. Our catering team is dedicated to offering our residents extensive choice on a daily basis. Visitors are welcome at any time , everyone enjoys the visits that are accompanied by dogs and small children.

Our experienced care team is lead by the deputy manager & manager, who are committed to developing care programs for each resident ,the development and training of our staff  .  We have an excellent relationship with local healthcare professional .Our commitment to families starts at the admission assessment and throughout the residential placement of each resident.
